This Public art project was requested by the city of Hapeville to spark community interaction and adventure. The design was driven by a love of bright colors and music. The song that inspired this project was the song "Play Me" by Neil Diamond. The chorus of the song is painted on the front of the piano,

"you are the sun, i am the moon,
you are the words, i am the tune, PLAY ME"

When creating the designing for the piano I imagined the piano personified having this conversation with the individual playing it. The fun, oddity of the piano claiming to be
'the tune' and telling the individual to 'PLAY ME' was such an intriguing concept to jump off of. From there the design created itself, the sun and the moon mentioned in the chorus drove the two painting on the sides, best seen in the video below. The contrasting colors of high saturation was meant to excite and call passers by to action, to PLAY ME.
The photo above shows the Digital submission that I proposed on this project. The QR Code seen in the corner is linked to a Youtube video of the song "play me" which inspired this design. The video is a tutorial on how to play the song on the piano. Another attempt to provoke the community to interact.
