This linoleum print was an entry into the gallery exhibition and silent auction for the "Creche Nativity Festival" in Houston Texas. The 2023 Christmas season was especially significant because it was the 600th anniversary of the Saint who first started the tradition of a visual nativity, St. Francis of Assisi. The entry was open to artist across the nation and from the nationwide entry only a few would then be featured in the live gallery in Houston and the silent auction. This work was selected out of hundreds of works to be featured, as well as winning the prize of "Best Use of Liturgical Imagery". This prize was given to the artist with the most accurate, compelling and symbolic visuals that tided directly back to the accounts of The Immaculate Conception in the Gospels. Below in Figure 1 is a labeled and detailed description of all of the symbolic imagery that was included in the print. Along with more detailed photos of the original hand carved slab.
